We all are aware of the board game Monopoly. Even if you haven’t experienced it you know the mission of the game is to buy as much property as you can to win; which programs happiness. It’s capitalism in its own glory.
The best way to win is not by buying into someone else’s happiness, but your own. I’m very happy.
Happiness is an elusive concept; some days it can feel like we’re winning the battle to be content with our lives, while other days it can feel like a losing game. But, what if we could truly win at happiness? What if we could take control of our own joy? I’ve been exploring the importance of taking ownership of your own happiness and how you can start winning at it.
Taking control of your own happiness is an incredibly rewarding experience. It means taking ownership of how you feel and actively engaging with the world in a way that brings you joy. It also brings a sense of security and stability that can be hard to achieve in a constantly changing world.
The most obvious benefit is that you can decide which moments in life to focus on and enjoy. You have the power to choose how you spend your time and who you spend it with. This means no more wasting energy or resources on things or people who don’t bring you joy. Instead, you can focus on building relationships and pursuing experiences that fill you with happiness and purpose.
Finally, taking control of your own happiness is a great way to develop skills in self-awareness and emotional intelligence. This can help you navigate relationships and life decisions in a way that will make you happier and more successful in the long run. Having this type of understanding of yourself and the world around you makes it easier to focus on what’s important, build meaningful connections, and make smart decisions that bring you joy.
At the end of the day, taking control of your own happiness is the only game you should be focused on winning.
